It all began with Dante Santarelli, a man of few words but big dreams, who, after the war, opened a simple yet genuine osteria where the flavors of the truest Rome could be found between a glass of wine and a shared laugh. His hands, accustomed to hard work, kneaded every morning that invisible bond that unites the one who cooks with the one who sits at the table. There, amid familiar aromas and checkered tablecloths, something was born that was far more than a restaurant: it was a home.

In the 1970s, his son Bruno carried the torch, tirelessly turning the hostaria into a point of reference for those seeking not only good food but also human warmth. Bruno knew every regular by name and understood that a true osteria is not measured only by its dishes, but by the embraces, the jokes, the silences shared over a steaming plate of amatriciana.

Today, Bruno’s daughters, the Santarelli sisters, continue this legacy. Raised among the tables of the hostaria, the scent of sauce simmering on the stove, and the voices of the neighborhood, they carry forward with the same passion as their grandparents, while looking to the future, writing new chapters every day of a truly Roman story—made of authentic flavors, respect for time, and care for every guest who crosses the threshold.
